Extra-curricular activities play an important part in the school. This may include day trips to local places of interest or residential visits by older children to areas further afield. Visitors also offer their expertise to small groups, a class, a Year group, a Key Stage or even to the whole school. Each child participates in a celebration of effort and achievement in their annual production. Our Carol and Music Concerts and the Summer Fair are also important events on our calendar.

Clubs covering a wide range of interests, including music, the arts and sports are available at lunchtime or after school. Competitions provide links with the local, national and global community. Whole school initiatives enhance the curriculum, such as the hatching and nurturing of our chicks. Economic enterprise is also encouraged, such as fund-raising for the chicks upkeep, for charity and raising money to help pay for a residential trip or to provide playground equipment for the school.

It is our intention that no child should miss out on an activity or visit through lack of funds and if this is a problem, please contact your child’s class teacher or the Head Teacher. A copy of the Charging and Remissions Policy is available on the policies page or from the school office.
