Children from year one to year six enjoyed reading \u2018Selkie\u2019 by Gillian McClure. The book was used as a stimulus for some super, creative writing. We were lucky to have a visit from Gillian a the end of the week and the children were able to hear first-hand how she finds inspiration for writing and illustrating her books.<\/p>\n

Reception also had a visit from author Carolina Rabei, who shared with the children some tips on how to create their very own picture book illustrations.<\/p>\n

\nOther activities included dressing up as a book character on World Book Day, design a book cover competition, extreme reading competition and participating in voting for Cambridgeshire\u2019s favourite picture book of 2017.<\/p>\n
