Y6 left for their residential trip to Overstrand Hall today.\u00a0 Please check back as we will be posting updates and photos here throughout the week.<\/p>\n

Monday 16th October<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3.50pm<\/strong> – They have just arrived.<\/p>\n

6.38pm<\/strong> – They have done some orienteering and nightline followed by dinner at 6.00pm.\u00a0 After dinner there’s a mini olympics.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 17th October<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

8.45am<\/strong> – Some dorms slept better than others but now everyone is up and showered.\u00a0 They have all eaten breakfast and are getting ready for the first activity of the day which starts at 9.00am.\u00a0 Today various groups will be caving, exploring minibeasts, doing some high ropes activities and team tech.\u00a0 After dinner tonight there’s a night walk – always a favourite.\u00a0 \u00a0They’ll sleep well tonight!\u00a0 More updates and hopefully some photos later …<\/p>\n

9.20am<\/strong> – Miss Bate says it was the best first night she’s had yet!\u00a0 They had a lovely evening.\u00a0 Here are a couple of photos – nightline and the mini olympics.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 18th October<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

7.40am<\/strong> – Everyone had a wonderful evening on the night walk. They all went to bed really well and slept right through. Now they are up and excited for a day of activities including den building and fire lighting this morning, beach adventure this afternoon and a campfire later. Miss Bate says the adults are really proud of them all! A few more photos added to the slideshow.<\/p>\n

Thursday 19th October<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

7.55am<\/strong> – while I wait for this morning’s update here are a couple of photos of last night’s campfire.<\/p>\n

9.35am<\/strong> – A few photos added<\/p>\n

2.45pm<\/strong> – Today various groups have been climbing, den building and learning to start fires with sticks – some photos added<\/p>\n

Friday 20th October<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

9.00am<\/strong> – Mrs Ayliffe is back from the trip for her last day at Mayfield.\u00a0 She reports that the whole group have been extremely well behaved, polite and encouraging of each other – one of the loveliest groups she has taken on a residential in her career.\u00a0 This has also been commented on by the Overstrand staff.<\/p>\n

9.40am<\/strong> – They had a great quiz night last night.\u00a0 All slept well again and this morning they are off to their final activities – Jacob’s ladder and problem solving.<\/p>\n

2.35pm<\/strong> – they are currently at Norwich.\u00a0 Estimated time of arrival is 4.00pm.<\/p>\n
