{"id":430,"date":"2013-10-13T19:40:01","date_gmt":"2013-10-13T19:40:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/?page_id=430"},"modified":"2017-01-27T14:35:38","modified_gmt":"2017-01-27T14:35:38","slug":"assessment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/?page_id=430","title":{"rendered":"Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/2EW-Maths-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1526\" src=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/2EW-Maths-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"2EW Maths 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/2EW-Maths-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/2EW-Maths-2-73x55.jpg 73w, https:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/2EW-Maths-2-470x352.jpg 470w, https:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/2EW-Maths-2.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #422874;\"><strong>Assessment Methods<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>To support teacher judgements about pupil levels, teachers use a range of information. \u00a0Sometimes school based tests are used; more often the children\u2019s work and discussions with the children about their work. \u00a0Work is cross referenced to a range of national criteria.<\/p>\n<p>How do we know that our judgements are accurate?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Firstly there is national guidance and criteria in all subjects<\/li>\n<li>We receive county led training as well as support training for some other schools<\/li>\n<li>We work alongside other schools<\/li>\n<li>In Y2 and Y6 samples of work in one subject (writing, reading or maths) are moderated annually with the county to ensure there is consistency<\/li>\n<li>We operate a system of internal school moderation in teams and across the age groups<\/li>\n<li>We have also put in our own system and have worked with other schools, including secondary schools to moderate work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Teachers at Mayfield use both formative and summative assessments throughout the year. \u00a0These assessments are all entered onto the school database and we extract information to both look at how the children are achieving and what progress they are making. \u00a0We use this information to discuss individuals, groups and year groups.
