The orchestra rehearses weekly and performs regularly both in school and at external concerts. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Orchestra-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2258\" src=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Orchestra-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Orchestra 2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The children play a variety of genres including popular themes (Star Wars, Harry Potter), classical pieces (Pachelbel\u2019s Canon, Prokofiev\u2019s Peter and The Wolf), folk and traditional pieces (Captain Jack\u2019s Hornpipe, Banuwa), jazz riffs from the popular \u201cRazzmajazz!\u201d and of course, carols during the Christmas term. \u00a0Anne arranges bespoke parts so that players of all instruments and different abilities can participate<i>.<\/i>\u00a0 There are usually around 30 members of the orchestra covering strings, wind, brass and percussion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Orchestra-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-2257 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Orchestra-3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Orchestra 3\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>If your child is interested in joining then do contact Anne annetaylormusic@gmail.com. \u00a0We meet on Thursdays at 8.30am in the Large Hall and welcome parent helpers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Orchestra-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2256\" src=\"http:\/\/mayfieldcambridge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Orchestra-4-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Orchestra 4\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><strong><span style=\"color: #422874;\">What do you like about Orchestra?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><i>I like playing my instrument with other people of different ages (Yael)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>The music we play: fast ones, sad ones, bouncy ones, and interesting ones (Michael)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>I like to play tricky pieces and learn them (Cara)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>Knowing that I\u2019m playing good music without doing lessons (Daniel)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>Making friends and working together (Rosalyn)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><\/i><strong><span style=\"color: #422874;\">What about the instruments?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><i>I like the viola because it makes low sounds (Niamh)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>We need a double bass (Daniel)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>The cornet music is hard because it\u2019s got high notes and sharps (Esme)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><\/i><strong><span style=\"color: #422874;\">What do you not like about Orchestra?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><i>It\u2019s early (Freya, Giovanni)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>Nothing \u2013 it\u2019s really good as it is (Greta)<br \/>\n<\/i><i>It could be a bit longer so that we could miss ALL of assembly!
