Welcome to Mayfield Primary School. We are very proud of our school – the children are delightful, hard-working and very caring. Staff are very committed to providing the best for the children and actively engage in ongoing professional learning. Our expectations are high for all children and our school is vibrant and exciting.
Our intake is a wonderful mix of backgrounds, needs, cultures and languages. Everyone is welcome. Currently we have over 40 languages. We have a specialist hearing support centre offering excellent support to children here. We want the children to achieve the best that they can. We help them to learn to respect others and to have self-confidence. We want the children to be challenged, both by us and by themselves as well as be happy.
We have a lovely school site and we encourage parents/carers to use the grounds after school with our open grounds policy. To enable parents who need to get to work early we open from 8.30 a.m. We have an outdoor swimming pool, very popular in the summer months. We offer extensive extra- curricular provision. Our parents are very supportive and pro-active in working with the school. As well helping within school we have an active parent- teacher association.
Our governors work hard to both support and challenge the school. There is a full governing body as well as several committees.
