Mayfield Orchestra were delighted to host a ‘Come and Play’ for young instrumentalists from 5 other primary schools in Cambridge on Sunday 20th May.

Past orchestra members came back to Mayfield too, to share some instruments now classified as ‘Rare Breeds’- horns, violas, double bass, bassoon and oboe, for an exciting play through of Stravinsky, John Adams, Holst and Tchaikovsky.

The huge joint orchestra filled the large hall, and Anne Taylor was joined by guest conductors Sam Hayes and Ali Chilvers to keep everyone in time.

Thanks to all our adult players and helpers, and well done to the Mayfield children who made sure that all our visitors had a great afternoon of fun, friendship and music in our school hall!
