Last Friday Y3 had an interesting day out at West Stow Anglo-Saxon village near Bury St Edmunds looking at artefacts in the museum.  They began to realise that the Anglo-Saxons were very creative and artistic and left some amazing designs, so maybe it was not the Dark Ages after all!  Later they looked around may different types of huts.  West Stow are trialling different designs of hut using the same post holes which the Anglo- Saxons once used because they are not sure exactly how the huts were built. They have also used different building materials to see which are the most efficient.  There is more information about West Stow on their website West Stow Website
